WHEREAS, Henry Pearson was born and raised in Lovettsville, VA where he and his wife, Debbie, are parents to two daughters and grandparents to five grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Henry retired from NOVEC in 2006 after 38 years of service before joining the Town of Lovettsville in September 2008; and

WHEREAS, Henry’s contributions to the Lovettsville community extend far and include coaching Babe Ruth and Lovettsville Girls’ softball teams for many years, his Life Membership with the Lovettsville Game Protective Association; his volunteerism at community events, carnivals, and fishing derbies; and

WHEREAS, Henry retired from the Town of Lovettsville on September 20, 2024 after serving as the part-time Public Works Coordinator and full-time ambassador for 16 years, as well as a one-time TV stint as “Mayor” and “Public Relations Coordinator” on May 24, 2018 when the Town was temporarily renamed as “Capitalsville;” and

WHEREAS, while his contributions to the community are not anticipated to cease anytime soon, the Town of Lovettsville is excited for Henry to enjoy his new free time for gardening, hunting, traveling wherever Debbie might want to go, and spending time with his family.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that I, Christopher M. Hornbaker, Mayor of the Town of Lovettsville, and the Town Council of Lovettsville, Virginia proclaim Henry’s birthday, December 26, 2024, as HENRY PEARSON DAY throughout the Town in recognition of Henry Pearson as a life-long resident, dedicated employee, and inspiring community leader whose passion and energy continue to have a remarkable impact on the Lovettsville community. We ask all citizens to join us in thanking Henry for his devotion and service to the Town of Lovettsville.
