The Town Square marks the Center of Town and houses the Holiday Tree and the Veterans Memorial. In June 2018, the Town Council officially renamed this area “Zoldos Square,” in recognition of former Mayor Robert Zoldos II for his leadership and service to the Town over a 20-year period.
Many events now use the Town Square for festivities. Don’t miss Wintertainmentfest which includes the Holiday Tree Lighting or Berserkle on the Squirkle. Wintertainmentfest typically occurs on the first Friday in December. Come out, sip cocoa and cheer the lighting of the tree to kick off your Holiday Season. Go Berserkle on the Squirkle at the New Year. Start working off those holiday pounds by running around the circle on the Town Square. A fun new event to celebrate the New Year! Go patriotic by attending the Memorial Day Ceremony, Veterans Day Ceremony and Patriot Day Ceremony.
Veterans Memorial
The Veterans Memorial was completed in time for the Veterans Day Ceremony in November 2011. Additional pavers are dedicated each year as part of the annual Veterans Day Ceremony. To order a paver, please fill out a Veteran Paver Order Form and deliver the form with a check for $250 to the Town Office by October 1.
Clock Tower
The Clock Tower is a new addition to the Town Square and houses four new clock faces designed by the Town using elements of the Town Seal. A distilfink cuckoo bird, bells and a glockenspiel with figures are planned to be added when funding becomes available. Donations are gratefully accepted and buy a Clock Tower Series 1 Holiday Tree Ornament or Replica for $25 at the Town Office.
More is planned for the Town Square. Check out the 2018 Lovettsville Town Square Master Plan.
