Winter Reminder: Please Remove Your Hoses from Your Outdoor Water Faucets.

This is just a friendly reminder to please remove your hoses from your outdoor water faucets. As temperatures move up and down, and we move into the heart of winter, there is potential for leaky connections to freeze. Protect your water bill… and your pipes!

Did you know that a leaking hose or nozzle can easily produce a 20 to 30 gallon/hour leak that will be reflected as usage on your monthly water bill?

The Town utilizes an electronic water meter system that will send out notifications for leaks. Town Staff try diligently to read the notifications daily and to make contact with customers about ongoing water leaks, but the customer is ultimately responsible for leaks on the house side of the meter. This metering system is a great asset for the customer and the Town as it helps to keep water overages to a minimum and reduces operating costs.
